A month ago or so I went to The Sanderson Hotel to preview Avon’s Colour makeup launch as the unveiled their new products to some fellow bloggers and the press. We were shown some of their new products, which included lip crayons and a 8-colour eyeshadow palette. They also had the redesigned quad eyeshadow palette with new formulas and showed some new colours joining the successful Ultra Colour Lipstick.

We also had the chance to meet the absolutely lovely Sam and Nic from Pixiwoo whose channel has to be one of my favourite on Youtube. They created some amazing looks using the products, some which I want to try at home. Alesha Dixon was also there being as lovely as she was the last time I met her at the last Avon event.

We were given a generous goody bag filled with everything from the collection so I have been playing around with a lot of the products. I have loved the lipsticks; the colour pay off is good and I love the sleek packaging. It looks very high end. My only bugbear is that I think the colour on the lip is a far cry from the colour picture on the bottom of the lipstick, but that is not a massive problem.

I love the packaging of the eyeshadow quads. They are very Chanel inspired, the formula makes the payoff of colour really good. They also blend nicely. I find it handy having four colours that work together making it easy to create a quick look. I am not sure that they are as good as my beloved MAC shadows but at half the price for four than it is for one they are really impressive.

The lip crayons are my favourite and I think they are ideal for on the go; they make life easy. Lip crayons are everywhere so Avon has some tough competition. I love the colours that Avon has in their collection especially, the bright pink aptly named 'Fresh Fuchsia'; the colour really pops on the lip. This is due to the new True Colour Technology, which means the base of the lipstick is a truculent shea butter and the pigment is added after so the colour is not interrupted. I do however find the formulation a little drying compared to others but I think that is down to the glitter in the product, which I am not a fan of as it does tend to stay after a lot of the product as gone. Overall I was impressed with what Avon had to offer and it was a far cry from what it use to be.
